Abstract: Organic chemistry is one of important compulsory courses in pharmacy major, and it is also an important basic course of medicinal chemistry, pharmacology, toxicology and natural product chemistry. It is the cornerstone of cultivating pharmaceutical talents. Jinan University is the highest institution of overseas Chinese. Overseas students, overseas Chinese and students from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan in China account for a relatively large proportion of the total number of students in our school. In the background of Jinan University's "First-class Discipline of Pharmacy", the authors discuss the cultivation of students according to the characteristics of overseas Chinese schools, the reform of the organic chemistry from teaching resources, processes and modes, the implementation of the teaching objective of "facing overseas, facing Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan", and the cultivation of pharmacy talents with outstanding innovative ability. This paper can provide experiences for the construction of organic chemistry teaching system with the characteristics of overseas Chinese schools.
